I almost relapse….then judgement and self control kick in…

30 June 2010

I went to Joann’s last night.  To get buttons and thread….I swear.  I ended up walking out with a new chalk pen set for marking fabric…but we will over look the impulse buy, since I had a coupon.

I ALMOST bought fabric.  It was a cute cotton print, and only 2 dollars a yard.  However…I practiced restraint.  I amost bought white linen…but again, I put it back (it was 60% off).

You should all be proud of me.

My Self-Imposed Fabric Fast

29 June 2010

Starting today, I am not allowed to buy anymore fabric, until I use up at least 75% of what I’ve purchased.  Most of my “stash” is purchased with a specific project in mind.  This being said, I’ve got enough fabric to make approximately 8 blouses, 2 work dresses, 6 work skirts, and 5 casual cotton dresses.  IF, BIG IF,  I complete an average of one garment a week, I have almost 6 months worth of sewing.  EGAD…I’m not sure I how I manage accumulating so much stuff.

This is a short post, mostly to keep me accountable and honest.

Stay tuned as hilarity ensues….
